Scilly On Line (SOL) was created in 1997, with the aim of becoming a unique internet resource for visitors and locals alike. It has, over the years, allowed local businesses to establish a web presence at a reasonable price, as well as helping numerous visitors to find accommodation, or local information, and to plan other details of their trip to the islands.

Following a comprehensive redesign in 2012, SOL has been relaunched with some new sections and a renewed emphasis on its original aims.There is more information here than before, and we hope to do a better job of keeping it all up to date (which should be easier now I'm not planning to have any more babies!). We hope you enjoy the new 'SOL recommends' section, which we have introduced to give the site a personal touch, and so that you can benefit from our knowledge and experience of living on the islands.
