statement for Lunnon Farm Cottages
The
cottages are all situated on a working flower farm. Access to them all
is from the main road via an uneven farm track.
Accesss
to each cottage:
- Entry
to Quillet is up a small step and through a gate to the patio. Having
crossed the patio access is then up a small step and over a threshold
into the living room.
- Entry
to Medlar is over a short gravel path and through a gate to the patio.
Having crossed the patio, access is then up a small step and over a
threshold into the kitchen area.
- Entry
to Lunnon Cottage is either up a short, narrow, earth / leaves path,
over a stile and up a short grass path, or along an uneven path from
the main road. It is then down two concrete steps to a short concrete
path to the front door where there is a step down into the lounge. Access
may also be gained by a short concrete, grass and gravel path to the
back door where there is a threshold into a small lobby.
Flooring and stairs etc in the cottages are all similar, but there are
variations which are detailed below.
Quillet
The downstairs living and kitchen areas have cork floors and rugs, while
the shower room has quarry tiles. The shower basin is made from non-slip
quarry tiles and has a step down into it. There are thresholds to cross
in the living room, the bedroom and the shower room.
Both bedrooms are carpeted.
The staircase is curved, and thus not all the stairs are of the same width.
Medlar
Downstairs there are cork floors and rugs in the living and kitchen areas
and in the small downstairs bedroom. There are two painted granite steps
up into this bedroom. There is one step down into the shower room, which
has a quarry tiled floor and shower basin also made of quarry tiles. There
is a step-over into the shower basin.
The stairs, which are open to one side and have a handrail attached to
the wall on the other side of the staircase, are carpeted.
The upstairs bedrooms and landing are carpeted.
Lunnon
Cottage
Downstairs, in the lounge, dining room, kitchen and shower room there
are cork floors, with rugs in some rooms, and with wooden thresholds between.
There is one painted concrete step, with a mat, between the kitchen and
lobby, and a painted concrete floor with a mat in the lobby. There are
also wooden thresholds in this area.
The shower is over the bath, and the bath is small in length but of a
standard height.
The stairs are open to one side, with a wooden handrail attached to the
wall on the other side of the staircase. They are carpeted and there is
one carpeted step at the bottom of the staircase.
