  Report 16/04/02
A short evening session on a sunny ebb tide this week was quite productive, with pollack, doggies, whiting, poor cod, dab, codling and conger landed at Outer Head. The fish mostly fell to lug, peeler and white rag. The mullet have also started to show again in some areas with fish to 31/2 lb caught - we are hoping for settled weather. Some boats have picked up catches of cod to 9lb, along with pollack and a sprinkling of mackerel. Roll on summer !

  Report 02/04/02
Well its been a while since the last report purely due to my busy schedule that has included holiday, collecting peelers and boat preparation for the coming season. Anyone who runs a small boat will know exactly what I mean! This also means the shore fishing has been a bit neglected - I think my rock rods have cobwebs on at the moment. The first mackerel were caught several weeks ago off the shore, and the boats already in have been picking them up along with plenty of pollack. We have been putting some time in for early mullet with good results both to maggot fly on the recent springs, and to bread. We have had fish each session, mostly 21/2 - 3lb, but one of around 4lb. The Mullet Madness has struck. Anyway, keep tuned in because it's ( fingers crossed ), going to be a very good year. I'll be posting reports every week from now, all being good. Here's wishing you Noisy Drags !

  Report 18/02/02
We managed to get out a couple of times this week. One session was after conger and huss, but was very poor with only a few tiny straps and a lone rockling. This Sunday finally saw two of us on Outer head hoping for cod, but again it fished poorly. Small whiting, ballans, cuckoo wrasse, pollack, dogfish and a solitary dab were all we could muster, although it was a glorious day and just good to be out !

Report 08/02/02
Weather has made shore fishing difficult, but a couple of short night sessions have been productive, mainly for strap conger. One session on a stormy night with a big swell running produced a run a chuck with the best fish a 16lb 6oz bull huss for Del Thompson. An upper double eel was lost at the gaff.Apart from that we are waiting for a break in the Sou'westers to get on the cod marks.
