The World Watersports Festival |
Cornwall’98 World Water sports Festival is set to be the
most exciting celebration of water sports ever ….. a county-wide bonanza
of international water-centred events, including the World Power Boat Championships,
Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race, Fireball National Championships, and World
Wave-ski Championships. Running throughout Cornwall from March to
October 1998. It is the largest gathering of water sports events
ever held.
The Isles of Scilly Gig Racing Association is immensely proud that the
World Pilot Gig Championships have been chosen for inclusion in the Calendar
of Main Events. This year over 60 gigs and hundreds of rowers from
as far afield as Holland and America will meet up on the Isles of Scilly
for a weekend of traditional Cornish rowing and camaraderie. It will
be the most exciting and colourful Gig racing event of the year.
