Looks like the forum has turned into Tutankhamen's tomb circa 1920, before Howard Carter's grave robbers arrived.

Where are the anti-LEO missives, do you all like The Boatshed now. Has the Scillonian (which amusingly and dare I say appropriately spell checks to Silurian) Liberation Ormy turned its (albeit blinkered) sights to Tibet. Something has gone seriously awry. Even Carpetman's epistles full of his own inimitable joi de vive and somewhat utopian views have slid into abeyance.

Shoestrung has become a lonely bitter creature which has nothing else in its life than moderating the forum and playing with itself, and what has it got to moderate? Nothing. Soon he/she/it will be reduced to opening horse shows in Shropshire (for a moderate fee), then he/she/it will go blind.

I am as guilty as the rest of you; even god has forgotten when I last posted, April 1st.

But there may be light on the horizon.

Radio Scilly starts on 3rd Sept, the 68th anniversary of the start of WWII -not a coincidence- and ScillyNews tells us –sadly now without pictures- that they are still waiting for the lottery commitments to come in.

So do fill in the form and hand it in.

Anyway what did you like/dislike about Radio Scilly and what would you like it to be.

Discuss.

I for one would like to see a weekly show about hedge trimming and King Crimson, but I am in a majority of one.

What would you like to see? Please add your suggestions here; it’s your local radio after all.

Looking forward to the launch, the local characters hosting the shows and imparting their "individual" tastes and ideas.
It'll also be interesting to see how the, "very local" aspect will progress, with news and events and even the "emergency messages"....

I remember after September 11th, the massive restrictions put on air travel caused chaos with the airlines, and Radio Scilly got the message out and prepared passengers for what was to come.

Bring on September!!!!!

Your right it has been quiet on here, quiet like Board Scilly (now trading under Scilly Forum), a shameless plug I know but hey it needs it, although you can't register there atm.

I'm looking forward to Radio Scilly starting, and I'll listen online when I get the chance.

Congratulations to everyone involved on the launch of Radio Scilly.I managed to catch some of the final programme broadcast last night- an amusingly tongue-in-cheek biopic of Kerry. What an interesting and varied life he seems to have lead.Is off-the-wall comedy going to be a permenant feature? And who was the gent with the wonderful Christopher Lee type voice?I felt like I was bathing in a ginourmous vat of organic 70% cocoa solids chocolate. Can we look forward to regular broadcasts in this genre? Perhaps a Royston Vasey take on the life and times in the islands? I tried to find an index to see who, when and what would be broadcasting in the near future but no luck.Is there one? What does everyone else think of the station's first broadcasts ?

Hello Everyone

I've been listening to Radio Scilly up here in Manchester. Its a very different format to what we have up here but it interesting all the same. Reminds me of the Isle of Man radio station that i used to listen to when i lived over there.

My aunt lives on the Islands and knowing what a 'joiner' she is we were expecting to hear her at some point. I'll just have to keep listening !

Good Luck to all concerned !
