What else can I say, he will be greatly miss by all.
All our thoughts are with his family at such a sad time... |

It's funny, sometimes when people leave us, the shock and loss is palpable, you can almost touch it. But cliches are used, superlatives, soundbites and sometime after, life returns to nomal (though never the same for those close).
With Nathan though, I think a gap will always be there in the community. A young man, settled with his family, working for the lifeboat, volunteering for the lifeboat. A Woodcock, entrenched in that most Scillonian of past times....Gig Racing. The circumstances of his passing may be etched in our minds, but to me he will always be towering in the street, pint in hand, singing.........................
Rest well Nathan...
The Islands will not be the same |

Remarkably, the Monday was terrible weather with strong winds and constant torrential rain.
Tuesday was beautiful. The service was respectful and solemn without being morbid. There were moments of light and times of great poignancy. With around 300 people in the chapel and roughly the same outside, it was a reflection of the regard Nathan was held in. A slow and quiet walk to Old Town was bathed in sunshine, with clear blue skies and more than one person reflected on how fortunate we were with the change in weather. |
