Sailing

Scilly is ideal for all forms of sailing, from speeding through clear, shallow waters in a dingy, to day cruises to off-islands and uninhabited islands.

The Scillonian Sailing Club
Porthmellon, St Mary's.
An RYA recognised teaching establishment, with Toppers, Picos, Lazers and Wayfarers available for members' use. Temporary membership is also available, for £10 adults and £5 juniors per organised session.
Organised sessions - Monday 6-8pm (Juniors), Tuesdays 6-8pm (Adults) and Friday 6-8pm (Racing) - throughout the summer.

       
     

Windsurfing

Scilly is a great place for windsurfing. If you don't have your own gear it can be hired from Rat Island Sailboat Company where you can also get instruction.

A local guy called James Watt has set up his own Scilly Windsurfing site with everything you'll need to know.

St Marys Harbour Information

St Marys Harbour is owned and run by the Duchy of Cornwall. The Harbour Office is on the quay and is open daily from 0800 - 1700. It can be contacted on (01720) 422768, VHF CH16 or CH14. In an emergency the Harbour Master can be contacted on (01720) 423343.
There is a speed limit of 3 knots in the harbour.
Please contact the Harbour Master for allocation of deep water yacht moorings. Visitors are requested NOT to take up local residents moorings.
Please use the Visitors Dinghy Park, situated at the Old Quay and NOT on or alongside St Marys Quay and passenger ferry steps.
