Things to do on the Isles of Scilly
Scilly is ideal for all forms of sailing, from speeding through
clear, shallow waters in a dingy, to day cruises to off-islands
and uninhabited islands.

Sailing and windsurf instruction, kayaks, boat and equipment hire
- bases on St Marys and Tresco.

An RYA recognised teaching establishment, with Toppers, Picos, Lazers
and Wayfarers available for members' use. Temporary membership is
also available, for £10 adults and £5 juniors per organised
session. Organised sessions - Monday 6-8pm (Juniors), Tuesdays 6-8pm
(Adults) and Friday 6-8pm (Racing) - throughout the summer.
is a great place for windsurfing. If you don't have your own gear
it can be hired from Isles of
Scilly Sailing Centre where you can also get instruction.
St Mary's Harbour Information
St Marys Harbour
is owned and run by the Duchy of Cornwall.
Office is on the quay and is open daily from 0800 - 1700 (April
- October) and 0800-1700 weekdays (November - March). It can be
contacted on (01720) 422768, Working channel 14, listening on Channel
14/16. Call sign ‘St Mary’s Harbour’.
In an emergency, the Harbour Master can be contacted out of hours
on 07789 273626.
There is a speed limit of 3 knots in the harbour.
Please contact the Harbour Master for allocation of deep water yacht
moorings. Visitors are requested NOT to take up local residents
When coming ashore at St Mary’s we request that dinghies and
tenders are left on the pontoon or in the very corner of the old
and new quays. Tenders must not be left along the main quay or in
the passenger steps
